Árboles con alma
Soulful trees
Árboles, cada uno es individual, no hay dos iguales; como los seres humanos.
Son muchos, innumerables, y hay que apreciar cada uno en su esencia, son seres vivos y quizás albergan un espíritu o un alma.
Los Árboles representan la coronación del mundo vegetal, son indispensables para nuestro bienestar. Sin ellos hubiera más inundaciones, más sequías y por lo mismo más migración climática. Son los pulmones verdes de nuestra tierra, sin ellos nosotros tampoco podríamos existir!
Each tree is an individual, and just like human beings, not two of them are the same. There are many trees, innumerable in fact, and each of them must be appreciated in its essence. Trees are living beings and perhaps they harbor a spirit or a soul. Trees represent the crowning of the plant world, they are indispensable for our well-being. Without them there would be more floods, more droughts and therefore more climate migration. They are the green lungs of our land, without them we could not exist either.

Pequeñas Inspiraciones
Little Inspirations
Ésta serie, que empecé en 2017, refleja mi lado lúdico y divertido. Me dejo inspirar de formas y colores, que surgen accidentalmente, usando recortes en forma de collage, buscando una pequeña historia, algo fantástico o humorístico. Son cuadros de pequeño formato, con acabados de pincel muy fino. Aquí hay una pequeña selección de esta divertida serie.
This series, with I started in 2017, reflects my playful and fun side. I am inspired by shapes and colors that arise accidentally, using cutouts in the form of collage, always looking for a little story, something fantastic or humorous. These are small format paintings, with very fine brush finishes. Here is a small selection from this fun series.

Cuadros Costurados
Stitched Paintings
La idea de utilizar la costura en mis cuadros surgió en el 2006. En la búsqueda de algo diferentes, y por el hecho de utilizar mi habilidad de costurar, (en una época estudié Diseño de Modas), comencé a costurar pedazos de manta, aplicándolas a mis lienzos, luego costurar los lienzos mismos, antes de tensarlos sobre el bastidor.
Esta técnica me dio la oportunidad de lograr un efecto tridimensional y fusionar dos habilidades artísticas.
The idea of using sewing in my paintings first came up in 2006. In search of something different and wanting to use my existent sewing skills, (I once studied Fashion Design), I started sewing pieces of blanket and applying them to my canvases. Later I started sewing the canvases themselves, before stretching them into the frame.
This technique gives me the opportunity to achieve a three-dimensional effect and merge two artistic skills.

Abstractos
Abstracts
Los abstractos siempre tienen una parte que recuerda a un tema o refleja un sentimiento. Cada quien busca o encuentra, interpreta o descifra algo diferente. Técnicamente un amigo pintor describe mi obra así:
“Su obra abstracta maneja líneas y planos que transitan de izquierda a derecha y de abajo hacia arriba y utiliza, en varios casos, la diagonal y, como complemento, el recurso de líneas curvas. La ruptura de cada plano, gracias al contraste cromático y lumínico, se diluye hacia sus interiores.”
My abstracts always have a part that recalls a theme or reflects a feeling. Each observer searches or finds, interprets or deciphers something different. A painter friend describes my work like this: "Her abstract work handles lines and planes that travel from left to right and from bottom to top and uses, in many cases, the diagonal and the curved lines as a complementary resource. The rupture of each plane, thanks to the color and light contrast, is diluted towards its interiors".

Women
El tema de la mujer regresa esporádicamente en mi obra, en diferentes estilos y enfoques. Aquí una pequeña selección de mis “mujeres”, que están inspiradas, en mi misma, las mujeres que conozco y admiro, y las mujeres del mundo.
The theme of women returns sporadically in my work, in different styles and approaches. Here is a small selection of my "women" that draw inspiration in myself, the women I know and admire, and the women of the world.

Various
Nunca me ha gustado estancarme en un estilo.
Me gusta la versatilidad y mi trabajo lo refleja, me reinvento, me inspiro y exploro nuevos estilos y técnicas. El desarrollo y crecimiento personal debe manifestarse en el arte. Con respecto a la técnica un buen amigo escribe:
“En caso de su obra figurativa, Stefanie Schikora usa generalmente el fondo de modo abstracto, con una figuración simbólica en primer plano.
El manejo de veladuras, colores complementarios y contrastes caracterizan su obra.
Los personajes evocan a veces a Joan Miró y Franz Marc.”
I've never liked getting stuck in one style.
I like versatility and my work reflects this. I like to reinvent myself, to be inspired and I explore new styles and techniques. Personal development and growth must be manifested in art. Regarding the technique, a good friend writes:
"In the case of her figurative work, Stefanie Schikora generally uses the background abstractly, with a symbolic figuration in the foreground.
The management of chromatic transitions, complementary colors and contrasts characterize her work. Her characters sometimes evoke Joan Miró and Franz Marc."

La serie de los "OFICIOS", creada en 2001, sigue viva:
El jardinero, La talonera, El pescador y La telefonista,
La peluquera, El albañil y El arquitecto, El carterista y El cartero y muchos más…"
Hay todo tipo de oficios, todos son dignos de ser ilustrados, sin juzgar, todos le sirven a alguien en la vida!
Aquí, en imagen unos que forman parte de éste desfile que se expuso en 2001 en el Museo MACAY.
Desde entonces he ilustrado, por encargo, muchos oficios más.
También se muestran unas ilustraciones para libros de niños.
The "PROFESSIONAL TRADES" series, created in 2001, is still alive:

There are all kinds of trades, all are worthy of being recognized, without judgement, They all have an important function in life!
